Section 18.20.110 specifies the period of time a preliminary parcel map must be filed with the Director of Public Works after its initial approval. This has been updated to reflect the current Subdivision Map Act requirements. RECOMMENDATION: That Council approve an amendment to Section 18.20.110 of the Chula Vista Municipal Code to reflect changes in the current Subdivision ~ap Act. BOARDS/COMMISSIONS RECOMMENDATION: N/A DISCUSSION: At the present time, Section 18.20.110 states that within one year after approval of the preliminary parcel map, a parcel map shall be filed with the Director of Public Works. Thus under current Municipal Code standards, the tentative parcel map has a life of one year after which time if a tentative map is not filed, it would be considered to have expired. The 1987 Subdivision Map Act states that a tentative parcel map shall expire 24 months after its initial approval or after any additional period of time as may be prescribed by local ordinance not to exceed an additional 12 months. Therefore, the current Municipal Code Section 18.20.110 should be amended to give the tentative parcel map an expiration period of two years as a minimum instead of the current one year period of time specified under the Code.
