Contract 1 required extra work amounting to $13,121.29 to make it acceptable to the Otay Water District. The work was completed at the direction of the District on July 8, 1987. The extra work increased the contract cost to $916,328.29. Contract 2, the 980 Zone pump station, has minor work to be accomplished before it can be accepted by the Otay Water District, the ultimate owner and operator of the facility. The Otay Water District has requested the contractor for the pump station project to install/modify several items that were not shown or correctly detailed on the plans or specifications. These items amount to $21,900 and will require about 2-3 weeks to complete. There are sufficient funds in the project's fund balance to cover this increase. It is, therefore, recommended that Council approve the change order (No. 9) authorizing the extra work and extending the contract to October 6, 1987.
