ITEM TITLE: Resolution ll~S~OAccepting Public Improvements, Third Avenue Storm Drain
at Park Way and south side of "G" Street east of Third Avenue

Sapper Brothers, Inc. have completed the construction of box culverts across Third Avenue
at Park Way and south of "G" Street east of Third Avenue. A final inspection was made
on June 17, 1981. It is my
RECOMMENDATION: that Council approve the resolution accepting the public improvements.

City Council awarded the contract dated November 4, 1980, to Sapper Brothers by Resolution
10296 on October 14, 1980. All work has been completed in accordance with the contract
plans and specifications and to the satisfaction of the City Engineer.
Included in the work performed was the modification to the Madrona Street parking lot and
drainage, which provided for 5 additional parking stalls and eliminated the unsightly
condition to the rear of several businesses on Third Avenue.
FINANCIAL STATEMENT: This project was constructed from Block Grant Funds.
Authorized Expenditure $323,350.00
Original Contract Amount $307,946.00
Final Construction Cost $304,051.50
Balance $ 19,298.50
Balance will be used to pay engineering and administrative costs. Any remaining amount
will be transferred to block grant local option.
FISCAL IMPACT: City to assume maintenance upon acceptance of work.
