RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
CHULA VISTA APPROPRIATING $90,000 FROM THE
AVAILABLE BALANCE OF THE ASSET SEIZURE FUND
FOR POLICE EQUIPMENT
WHEREAS, the Police Department requires a new walk-in freezer to ensure that
biological evidence is stored in a temperature and humidity controlled environment; and
WHEREAS, because of the amount of biological evidence is increasing at a rapid pace,
the Department requires much larger storage capability; and
WHEREAS, the Department can utilize Asset Seizure funds to purchase the equipment
and contract the installation of equipment, without utilizing general fund money.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Chula
Vista does hereby appropriate $90,000 to the Capital Expenditures category of the Asset Seizure
fund.
