HomeMy WebLinkAboutAgenda Statement 1981/06/23 Item 5h COUNCIL AGENDA STATEMENT Item oJ h ITEM TITLE: Meeting Date 6-23-81 Resolution !OSIYEstablishing compensation plan for CETA classifications SUBMITTED BY: City Manager ~ (4/5ths Vote: Yes No~) This resolution provides for the salary ranges for classifications filled only by CETA participants. RECOMMENDATION: Adopt resolution. BOARD/COMMISSION RECOMMENDATION: Not applicable. DISCUSSION ~ The maximum wage criteria, as set by the Federal Government, has been tightening every year. Prior to April 1, 1979, the maximum salaries paid to participants of the program was $833/month for Title II and $916/month for Title VI but could be supplemented with City funding. Between April 1, 1979 and September 30, 1979, the maximum salaries did not change but, for the first time, the salaries of all participants for a particular jurisdiction could average no higher than $605/month, and could no longer be supplemented with City funding. From October 1, 1979 to the present, the same maximum of $833 applies. I recommend that the CETA classifications receive an 8.5% wage increase which conforms to the salary increase provided to the Chula Vista Employees Association. However, no individual CETA participant will receive in excess of $833 per month. 'i Listed on Attachment "A" are the classifications and the effective salary ranges for the 1981-82 fiscal year. FISCAL IMPACT: Not applicable. .. ~ . (;!t/ c.~;ou:-";~:j! of \/is';:a, C:.:,Ji{orrda by Chu1a Dated b - ;23 --8'( Y' . I 0 t:]/L{ Form A-113 (Rev. 11/79)
