Pedersen at the south end of Palm Drive Ci ty Eng ineer ~ (4j5ths Vote: Yes No~) SUBMITTED BY: Recently, Mr. Jerry Milburn annexed his property at 3966 Palm Drive to the City. He has built a single family dwelling on the property and had the sewer main extended in order to serve his home. Although the sewer main is in the unincorporated area of the County, the City will be maintaining it. It is my RECOMMENDATION: That the Council accept the subject easements and direct the City Clerk to forward them to the County for recordation. BOARD/COMMISSION RECOMMENDATION: Not applicable. DISCUSSION: In order to connect to the City sewer system, the owner of the property at 3966 Palm Drive, Jerry Milburn, was required to a) annex to the City and b) extend the existing 8-inch sewer main in Palm Drive approximately 158 feet. Under agreement with the City, Mr. Milburn was allowed to connect to the City sewer system prior to completion of annexation proceedings. He has extended the sewer main and the City has inspected and accepted the work on May 6, 1981. The sewer extension has been added to the City maintained, 8-inch main in Palm Drive serving Bonita Ridge Estates, Unit No.3, subdivision. The additional 158 feet of sewer lies within private properties. The Milburn property is landlocked and access and utilities are provided by private easements through surrounding properties. The sewer main was installed within the access easement on two properties. One is owned by David and Erika Alexander; the other is owned by Lief G. Pedersen. Both property owners have agreed to grant easements to the City and have executed their portions of the proper documents. I recommend that the City Council accept subject easements and direct the City Clerk to transmit them to the County Recorder's office for recordation. A transparency is available for Council viewing. FISCAL IMPACT: sewer. Minimal costs to City in maintenance of new JWH:nr/FY-010, KY-090 Form A-113 (Rev. 11/79) fOlfq 7
