HomeMy WebLinkAboutReso 2010-200RESOLUTION NO. 2010-200 RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CHULA VISTA ACCEPTING $95,000 FROM THE COUNTY OF SAN DIEGO CALIFORNIA IDENTIFICATION PROGRAM AND APPROPRIATING SAID FUNDS TO THE FISCAL YEAR 2010/2011 POLICE BUDGET FOR HOURLY LATENT PRINT EXAMINER AND POLICE SERVICES TECHNICIAN PERSONNEL WHEREAS, the California Identification System (Cal-ID) is a state-wide computerized network which allows fingerprint or palm print images to be entered with identification possible if the known prints aze part of the databases; and WHEREAS, the San Diego Cal-ID Program is funded by the County general fund, user agency fees based on population and crime within each jurisdiction, and funding provided by Section 9250.19 of the California Vehicle Code; and WHEREAS, the San Diego County Cal-ID Remote Access Network (RAN) Board approved a request from the Chula Vista Police Department in the amount of $95,000; and WHEREAS, this funding will pay for the personnel costs of two part-time Latent Printer Examiners and one Ca]-ID Services Technician for one year. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Chula Vista does hereby accept $95,000 from the County of San Diego California Identification Program and appropriate said funds to the fiscal year 2010/2011 Police personnel budget for hourly Latent Print Examiner and Police Services Technician personnel.
