(4/5ths Vote: Yes X No -- On July 19, 1988, the City Council by Resolution No. 13670 accepted the work for the construction of William Avenue Improvements between Palomar Street and Orange Avenue. The contract did not include expenses incurred on our behalf by the Sweetwater Authority to relocate water meters to accommodate the project. Sweetwater Authority has now submitted a bill in the amount of $2,938.09 for this work. Additional funds need to be appropriated to cover the meter relocation cost. RECOMMENDATION: Adopt resolution unappropri ated Gas Tax reserve funds Account. 411tOARDS/COMMISSIONS RECOMMENDATION: Not applicable. appropriating funds from the to William Avenue Street Improvement DISCUSSION: The constructi on of the Wi 11 i am Avenue Improvements (between PaloJ11ar Street and Orange Avenue) was completed on July 6, 1988. To construct the improvements, Sweetwater Authority had to relocate thei r water meter facilities. The cost for this work is shared between the City and Sweetwater Authority. The Agency has been billed for $2938.09, the amount of our responsibility. The funds appropriated for this project were sufficient to cover our contractual obligation, but not to cover the additional costs for Sweetwater's work. FISCAL IMPACT: The City's share of the cost to relocate water meter facilities for the William Avenue project total $2,938.09. This amount is available in the unappropriated Gas Tax reserve.
