On July 19, 1988, the City Council by Resolution No. 13670 accepted the work
for the construction of William Avenue Improvements between Palomar Street and
Orange Avenue.
The contract did not include expenses incurred on our behalf by the Sweetwater
Authority to relocate water meters to accommodate the project. Sweetwater
Authority has now submitted a bill in the amount of $2,938.09 for this work.
Additional funds need to be appropriated to cover the meter relocation cost.
RECOMMENDATION: Adopt resolution

appropriating funds from the
to William Avenue Street Improvement
DISCUSSION:
The constructi on of the Wi 11 i am Avenue Improvements (between PaloJ11ar Street
and Orange Avenue) was completed on July 6, 1988.
To construct the improvements, Sweetwater Authority had to relocate thei r
water meter facilities. The cost for this work is shared between the City and
Sweetwater Authority. The Agency has been billed for $2938.09, the amount of
our responsibility. The funds appropriated for this project were sufficient
to cover our contractual obligation, but not to cover the additional costs for
Sweetwater's work.
FISCAL IMPACT: The City's share of the cost to relocate water meter
facilities for the William Avenue project total $2,938.09. This amount is
available in the unappropriated Gas Tax reserve.
