The construction of the new fire station, 80 East "J" street, has been
completed. However, funds are needed to landscape the new station,
purchase a sign, repair a damaged sidewalk, and pay for minor change
orders.
RECOMMENDATION:
Adopt resolution appropriating $13,750 from the General Fund Reserve.

DISCUSSION:
T4IIlriginal monies appropriated for the construction of a new fire station
a~ East "JII street did not include money for landscaping the new fire
station. Landscaping plans have been developed for the station and it is
estimated that the plan will cost approximately $9,300.
An additional $1,950 is also needed to install a sign identifying the
station. The sign will be attached to the front entrance. The letters
will be 6" aluminum lettering similar to those on the Public Library (see
Attachment A & B).
The remaining $2,500 is needed to repair and bring up to code the existing
driveway and sidewalk in front of the parking area which also was not part
of the original contract. The existing driveway and sidewalk will be
removed and replaced with new materials to match the new sidewalk and
curbing in front of the station.
