Otay Lakes Road between Cami no del Cerro Grande and Ri dgeback Road is bei ng
widened to provide four traffic lanes in conjunction with the Rancho del Rey
Subdivision.
RECOMMENDATION: That Council adopt the resolutions a) and b) listed in the
item title above.
BOARDS/COMMISSIONS RECOMMENDATION: Not applicable.
DISCUSSION:
A condition of approval of the Tentative Map for Rancho del Rey Subdivision
requi res the developer to wi den Otay Lakes Road to four 1 anes from Ri dgeback
Road to Cami no del Cerro Grande. Otay Lakes Road wi 11 also be wi dened from
East IIH" Street to Ridgeback Road in conjunction with another project, Bonita
Point Plaza. The subject street easement is a portion of the right-of-way
required for construction of the subject project. The equestrian easement is
required to provide for an equestrian trail connecting the equestrian trail
system east of Otay Lakes Road with the proposed trails in Rancho del Rey.
The equestrian trail easement is located within the 250 foot wide San Diego
Gas and Electric Company transmission line easement.
The documents granti ng the street and equestri an trai 1 easements have been
executed by the North Island Federal Credit Union. They have been reviewed
and are ready for acceptance by Council.
A plat is available for Council viewing.
