RECOMMENDATION: That Council accept bids and award contract to Sim J. Harris Company in the amount of $86,528.64. BOARDS/COMMISSIONS RECOMMENDATION: Not applicable. DISCUSSION: ~ Bids were received from three contractors as follows: Bidder Bid Amount l. 2. 3. Sim J. Harris Company - San Diego Asphalt, Inc. - El Cajon California Pavement Maintenance Company, Inc. - San Diego $ 86,528.64 87,145.64 90,194.24 The low bi d by Sim J. Harri s Company is above the engi neer I s estimate of $84,826.20 by $1,702.44, or 2%. We have reviewed the low bid and recommend awarding the contract to Sim J. Harris Company. Attached is a copy of the Contractor's Disclosure Statement. Also attached is a table showing the location of the streets to be chip sealed. FINANCIAL STATEMENT Funds Required for Construction: a. Contract Amount Contingencies (approximately 6.5%) Total Funds Required for Construction $ 86,528.64 5,471.36 $ 92,000.00 Funds Available for Construction: ~ a.
