Chula Vista provides animal shelter services for both the cities of
National City and Imperial Beach. These contracts have been adjusted
to reflect new salary and workload levels.
RECOMMENDATION:
That Council approve these agreements.
. BOARDS/COMMISSIONS RECOMMENDATION:
Not applicable.
DISCUSSION:
In developing the service fees for National city and Imperial Beach,
the formula is based on the number of animals each jurisdiction brings
into the shelter, and this number is applied as a percentage against
the cost to operate the shelter for Fiscal Year 88/89 as follows:
Animals

Into Shelter
Chula vista
National city
Imperial Beach
3,750
1,228
755
Percentage Cost to Proposed

21.4% 118,816 $25,426
13.2% 118,816 15,837
FISCAL IMPACT:
