The 1988-89 budget provides for the replacement of one 1962 pumper fire
truck. Council Resolution No. 6132 authorizes the City to participate in a
cooperative bid for the purchase.
RECOMMENDATION: That Council adopt the resol uti on authori zi ng the purchase
from Seagrave Fire Apparatus, Inc.
BOARDS/COMMISSIONS RECOMMENDATION: Not applicable.
DISCUSSION:
The City of Los Angeles on Bid No. E2-101 requested bids on eight 1,500 GPM
.triPle combination fire trucks. The City of Chula Vista was listed on the bid
for one unit. The bi d was awarded on contract no. 59694 to Seagrave Fi re
Apparatus, Inc., Clintonville, Wisconsin. The truck is acceptable to the
Director of Public Safety and is to be delivered within 300 days.
The bid price is $154,608 with terms of 1/2 of 1% discount if payment is made
within 26 days after receipt of invoice. The City will pay the invoice in
suffi ci ent time to take advantage of the di scount. The total purchase pri ce
including sales tax, minus the cash discount is $163,930.92. The truck being
replaced will be sold at auction.
