HomeMy WebLinkAboutReso 1979-9880~, r Form No. 344(a) Rev. 2-79 RESOLUTION N0. 9880 RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CHULA VISTA APPROVING THE TENTATIVE SUBDIVISION P~IAP FOR CHULA VISTA TRACT 80-1, SEA VALE CONDOMINIUMS The City Council of the City of Chula Vista does hereby resolve as follows: ~AHEREAS, the Planning Commission of the City of Chula Vista has heretofore approved that certain tentative map of a sub- division to be known as Chula Vista Tract 80-1, Sea Vale Condominiums and has recommended that the City Council approve said tentative map subject to the conditions contained in Planning Commission Reso- lution No. PCS-80-1 adopted on the 14th day of November 1979, a copy of which is attached hereto and by this reference made a part hereof, the same as though fully set forth herein, and WHEREAS, the proposed project is exempt from environ- mental review as a class 1(i) exemption. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Chula Vista does hereby approve said tentative subdivision map in accordance with Planning Commission Resolution No. PCS-80-1 . Hanken and C. Cono for the conversion of 46 existing apartment units located at 695 Sea Vale Avenue into a one lot condominium project, and WHEREAS, Section 66473.5 of the State f^.ap Act provides that approval of a subdivision map shali be based upon findings of consistency betwee~~ the subdivi- sion map and the adopted General Plan of the local juristiction, and 'dHEREAS, the Planning Commission set the time and place for a public hearing to consider said tentative map, and notice of said hearing, with its purpose:. was given by the publication in a newspaper of general circulation in the city at least 10 days prior to the date of said hearing, and WHEREP.S, a hearing was held at said time and place9 namely 7:OU p. m., November 14, 1979 in the City Council Chambers before the Planning Commission and said hearing was thereafter closed, and 6JHEREAS, the conversion of existing units into condominiums is exempt from environmental review as a class 1(i) exemption. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED AS FOLLOWS: 1. From facts presented to the Planning Commission, the Commission finds that the subdivision map for Chula Vista Tract 80-1, Sea Vale Condominiums, is consistent with the goals and objectives of the Chula Vista General Plan based on the following: a. The conversion of apartments into condominiums does not affect the following elements of the General Plan: Land Use, Circulation, Seismic Safety, Safety, Noise, Scenic Highways, Bicycle Routes, Public Buildings, Conservation, Parks and Recreation, and Open Space. b. Housing Element - While the conversion of existing apartments into condominiums will reduce the inventory of rental housing, it will permit an expanded choice of housing ownership. 2. The Planning Commission recommends to the City Council that the tentative map for Chula Vista Tract 80-1, Sea Vale Condominiums, be approved, subject to the following conditions: a. The two bedroom units shall be assigned a carport with storage. b. The owner shall grant a 3.5 foot wide street tree easement on the north side of Sea Vale Street. ~-98xo 3. That this resolution be transmitted, along with the tentative map, to the City Council, and a copy of this resolution be transmitted to the applicant.
