ITEM TITLE: Resolution / D Od+iProviding for the special appropriation of funds for
the Special Election held in consolidation with the
General School District Election on November 6, 1979

On the November 6, 1979 Election, Proposition "G" was placed
on the ballot establishing the Mayor's salary at $12,000 a
year with an annual salary increase of not more than So. The
Proposition passed by a vote of 7,389 to 3,733. The Registrar
of Voters has just billed the City for the cost of that election.
RECOMMENDttiT10N: Approve the resolution providing for the payment
o the election costs.

DFSCUSSION: The total cost of the November 6, 1979 Election
was 929,230, The pro rata share of the cost for the one
Proposition placed on this ballot is $6,045.85. Since this
special election was not budgeted, it is necessary to appropriate
the necessary funds.
FINANCIAL IMPACT; Appropriate the amount of $6,045.85 from the
unappropriated surplus of the General Fund; transfer to
Account 100-0170-5202; and authorize payment to the Registrar of
Voters for payment of the special election held on November 6, 1979.

to be incurred by the contract or agreement authorized by the
attached resolution can be incurred without the violation of any
of the provisions of the Charter of the City of Chula Vista, or
the Constitution or the laws of the State of California, that
sufficient monies have been appropriated for the purpose of said
contract, that sufficient monies to meet the obligations of the
contract are actually in the Treasury, or are anticipated to come
into the Treasury to the credit of the appropriation from which
the same are to be drawn, and that said monies now actually in
the Treasury, together with the monies anticipated to come into
the Treasury, to the credit of said appropriation are otherwise
unencumbered.
