The signed agreement had a termination date of January 1, 1980, for completion of the project. This contract was first amended in February, 1979 to extend the termination date from January 1 to July 1, 1980. Based on initial project implementation date of November 19, 1979, the project is now expected to terminate on December 30, 1980, with the inclusion of approximately 40 days to evaluate system operations and complete appropriate reporting requirements. ... The original agreement also addressed the City directly operating the proposed system (i.e. hiring drivers, purchasing or leasing vans, etc.). The original contract also detailed a larger numbers of hours of operation than will actuAlly be the case (i.e. 8:30 to 4:30, Monday through Fr id ay\ . I request the Council to authorize the Mayor to sign six copies of the amended 58 283 City/Caltrans contract. The basic contract remains unchanged (i.e. it is still a grant award of $81,300 for Handy trans operation over a l2-month demonstration period). The revised project scope is detailed (e.g. contract operations, use of 4 vehicles, 8 hours per day 5 days per week operation, etc.). The initial contract did not cover many of the revised details. 1. Caltrans will pay 90% of the City's monthly invoices for expenses under the contract and the remaining 10% upon receipt of a final City report. 4. A revised estimate of cost allowable to contract operator as well as reimbursable to City and updated revenue sources are listed. ... Upon the Mayor's signature of the amended contract, the State Business and Transportation Agency will be requested to approve the amendment. The City then will be eligible to apply for reimbursable expenses under this amended contract.
