[ 2 a , ~ CtiULA VISTA CITY COUNCIL MEETING OF: September 17, 1974 a) Public Hearing - Consideration of Vacation of a Portion of Moss Street from I-5 Freeway to Bav Boulevard ITEM TITLE: b) Resol~atio:a ~ Or~.ering the Vacation of a portion of the public right-of-way for Moss Street INITIATED BY: Director of Public Works/City Engineer /~ BACKGROUND G City Council, by Resolution 7432 on August 27, 1974, established September 17, 1974 as the date for a public hearing on the proposed street vacation of a portion of Moss Street from I-5 Freeway to Bay Boulevard. Moss Street was dedicated on Map 166, Rancho de la Nacion, with an 80 foot width right of way. The southerly half was rededicated upon the recorda- tion of Harborside Unit No. 2 Subdivision. Moss Street at this location is not improved. On August 14, 1974 the Planning Commission considered the proposed vacation. and determined that this portion of Moss Street is no longer necessary for public use and recommended that it be vacated. All utility companies were notified and only California-American Water Company requests an easement for a water main and fire hydrant purposes. The portion of Moss Street to be vacated and the easement to be reserved on behalf of Cal-Am Water Company for a water main and fire hydrant purposes is described in Exhibit "A" attached. A transparency is available for Council viewing. The City Clerk will record the resolution vacating Moss Street and Exhibit "A" attached with the County Recorder. City Council take appropriate action to vacate a portion of Moss Street between the I-5 Freeway and Bay Boulevard. as described in Exhibit "A". 2~, City Council reserve an easement for water main and fire hydrant purposes on behalf of California American Water Company as described in Exhibit "A".
