[ ] CHULA VISTA CITY COUNCIL MEETING OF: August 13, 1974 ITEM TITLE: Resolution - Empowering the San Diego County Director of Public Health to Enforce Provisions of Ordinance No. 1547 Relating to Construction, Repair, Reconstruction or Destruction of Wells INITIATED BY: uarxruniiun Director of Public Works/City Engineer The Agreement for Public Health Services between the City and the County (Res. #1389) makes provision for County enforcement of certain City ordinances related to public health. The primary qualification being that the City ordinance must impose the same regulatory and penal provisions on incorporated territory within the City as does the related County ordinance upon unincorporated territory. The recently adopted Well Standards Ordinance (Ord. #1547) was written with assistance from the County staff so as to be comparable with the related County ordinance. The Agreement for Public Health Services stipulates that the City Council adopt a resolution: 1. Requesting enforcement by the County. 2. Certifying that the City ordinance is comparable to the County ordinance. 3. Empowering appropriate County officers and employees to enforce the City ordinance within the incorporated territory of the City. Passage of this resolution will formalize the implied intent of Ordinance No. 1547 and be in conformity with the provisions of the Agreement for Public Health Services.
