Therefore, it is my RECOMMENDATION: That the Council adopt the provided resolution. BOARD/COMMISSION RECOMMENDATION: N.A. DISCUSSION After discussing the advantages and disadvantages of providing time and one-half for hourly employees represented by HERO, the Council determined to provide time and one-half for hard holidays worked to these employees and further directed staff to study means of providing, in an appropriate way, fringe benefits for hourly employees who have extended continuous service in this capacity. Time and one-half for hard holidays will not accrue to Interns because these classifications are normally filled by students on a project basis nor to Traffic Officers because the majority of these individuals are Rohr employees. The effect of this action is that classifications represented by HERO, listed on Attach- ment A, will receive 9~% salary increase and time and one-half compensation for hard holidays and the others enumerated above will receive a 10% increase in salary but will not be compensated at time and one-half for hard holidays. FISCAL IMPACT The total cost of the compensation package is estimated at $27,000. This meets the guidelines set by the City Council. _...-,.~- ., . . ~ --b}--'- ,~ , '" '-' _, ~' ,.:l ;\ C"C;I" :i'fi~ n"tnd J - . L)~ ~ .
