Resolution No. 8258, adopted July 20, 1976, approved the cooperative bid with the
City of San Diego for the City of Chula Vista's requirements for library books.
The contract was awarded to Baker & Taylor Company.

RECOMMENDATION: That Council
Extend contract to cover the period July 1, 1980 through June 30, 1981.

DISCUSSION:
The contract provides for the following discounts:

The contract contains an option to renew for additional one year through June 30, 1981
at the same prices and conditions. The recommendation for renewal was based on the large
discount, integrity of Baker & Taylor in fully applying these discounts, and the fact
that Baker & Taylor has been reliable, prompt and responsive.
FISCAL IMPACT:
Purchases will be made only on availability of funds as certified by the Finance Director.
