RECOMMENDATION: Adopt resolution. BOARD/COMMISSION RECOMMENDATION: N.A. DISCUSSION: The classifications listed on Attachment A are recommended to receive an 8.5% salary increase effective 7-11-80. The fringe benefit package is the same as the benefits pro- vided for employees represented by the Chula Vista Employees Association. The Recreation Supervisor listed on the attachment is the grant-funded supervisor of the Senior Service Center. The recommended salary increase for other Recreation Supervisors totals 17.5% (Arthur Young 9% and City increase 8.5%). It is recommended that the grant- funded Recreation Supervisor receive the same increase. It is important to note that if the increases are granted for this position, as well as three part-time employees, the expenditures of the Center may exceed the final budget as approved. Currently the revenue received for the program is as follows: County Area Agency on Aging - $28,915 City Block Grant 8,000 $36,915 If the salary increases are granted, the estimated expenditures for the Senior Service Center are $41,220. This may require additional Block Grant funding of up to $4,000. If additional money is required, it is staff's intention to utilize funds earmarked for local option. The budget for the Senior Service Center will be monitored carefully during the year to reduce the amount of additional funding required. FISCAL IMPACT: If the Arthur Young study is implemented, the total cost of the compensation package is estimated at $9,000. This meets the wage guidelines set by the City Council.
