HomeMy WebLinkAboutAgenda Statement 1980/07/01 Item 17 COUNCIL AGENDA STATEMENT Item 17 Meeting Date 7-1-80 ITEM TITLE: Resolution 1()/1! - Accepting Bids and Awarding Contract for Asphaltic Concrete SUBMITTED BY: Purchasing Agent~ (4/5ths Vote: Yes___ No~) Bids were received and opened at 3:00 P.M. on June 6, 1980 in the office of the Purchasing Agent for furnishing asphaltic concrete to the City for the period July 1, 1980 through December 31, 1980. An estimated 4,500 tons of material will be picked up at the vendor's plant by City trucks. Bids were requested for a six-month period due to fluctuating material costs. RECOMMENDATION: That Council Accept the bids and award the contract to Daley Corporation. San Diego 95,400 Industrial Asphalt Lakeside 95,850 Costs to pick up item 1 at Lakeside would exceed the $210 savings; therefore, it is recommended that Daley Corporation be awarded the bid. The increase from the contract expiring June 30, 1980 is 20.1%. FISCAL IMPACT: Purchases to be made only on availability of funds as certified by the Finance Director.
