Asphaltic Concrete

Bids were received and opened at 3:00 P.M. on June 6, 1980 in the office of the
Purchasing Agent for furnishing asphaltic concrete to the City for the period
July 1, 1980 through December 31, 1980. An estimated 4,500 tons of material will be
picked up at the vendor's plant by City trucks. Bids were requested for a six-month
period due to fluctuating material costs.
RECOMMENDATION: That Council
Accept the bids and award the contract to Daley Corporation.

Costs to pick up item 1 at Lakeside would exceed the $210 savings; therefore, it is
recommended that Daley Corporation be awarded the bid.
The increase from the contract expiring June 30, 1980 is 20.1%.

Purchases to be made only on availability of funds as certified by the Finance Director.
