HomeMy WebLinkAboutReso 1980-10125 RESOLUTION NO. 10125 RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CHULA VISTA ADOPTING AMENDMENT TO GENERAL PLAN DIAGRAM FOR 13 ACRES AT BAY BOULEVARD AND "J" STREET follows: The City Council of the City of Chula Vista does find as That in accordance with the attached Negative Decla- ration, IS-80-44and the findings therein, the proposed amendment to the General Plan diagram for 13 acres at Bay Boulevard and "J" Street will not have a significant impact upon the environment, and the City Council hereby certifies that the Negative Decla- ration was prepared in accordance with the California Environ- mental Quality Act of 1970, as amended. The City Council of the City of Chula Vista does hereby resolve as follows: WHEREAS, the City Council has heretofore on June 10, 1980 held a public hearing to consider an amendment to the General Plan designation of approximately 13 acres of land located on the west side of Bay Boulevard and "J" Street in the Bayfront Redevel- opment Project Area, from "Visitor Commercial" and "General Industrial" to "Research and Limited Industrial" and "Thorough- fare Commercial", and WHEREAS, having heard testimony at such public hearing and received the recommendation of the Planning Commission as contained in their Resolution No. GPA-80-4, adopted on the 14th day of May, 1980, the City Council now desires to make said revision to the General Plan. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Chula Vista does hereby amended the General Plan of the City of Chula Vista in accordance with Resolution No. GPA-80-4 as adopted and forwarded by the Planning Commission. GPA-80-4 RESOLUTION OF THE CITY PLANNING COMMISSION RECOMMENDING TO THE CITY COUNCIL AN AMENDMENT TO THE GENERAL PLAN DIAGRAM TO CHANGE THE DESIGNATION OF APPROXIMATELY 13 ACRES AT BAY BOULEVARD AND "J" STREET FRO~1 VISITOR COMMERCIAL AND GENERAL INDUSTRIAL TO RESEARCH AND LIMITED INDUSTRIAL AND THOROUGHFARE COMMERCIAL WHEREAS, the Local Coastal Program of the City of Chula Vista, as certified by the State of California, contains some inconsistencies with the City's adopted General Plan for the Bayfront Area, and WHEREAS, development plans consistent with the Local Coastal Program have been proposed, and WHEREAS, the City Planning Commission set the time and place for a public hearing to consider an amendment to the General Plan to change the designation of approximately 13 acres at Bay Boulevard and "J" Street from Visitor Commercial and General Industrial to Research and limited Industrial and Thoroughfare Commercial, as shown on Exhibit A, and WHEREAS, a hearing was held at said time and place, namely 7:00 p.m., May 14, 1980, ln the Counci 1 Chambers, before the Planning Commission, and said hearing was thereafter closed, and WHEREAS, the Planning Commission adopted the Negative Declaration on IS-80-44 and found that the subject project would have no significant adverse environmental impact. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED AS FOllOWS: 1. From facts presented to the Planning Commission, the Commission finds that public necessity, convenience, general welfare, and good planning practice require an amendment to the General Plan to change the designation of approxi- mately 13 acres at Bay Boulevard and "JII Street to Research and limited Industrial and Thoroughfare Commercial. 2. The Planning Commission recommends to the City Council that said amend- ment to the General Plan be adopted. 3. That this resolution be transmitted to the City Council. PASSED AND APPROVED BY THE CITY PLANNING COMMISSION OF CHUlA VISTA, CALIFORNIA this 14th day of May, 1980, by the following vote, to-wit: AYES: Commissioners R.
