Setting date and time for Public Hearing to consider deferral of undergrounding requirements at 333 Third Aven~~~ SUBMITTED BY: City Engineer \~ Harvey's Bakery is relocating its facility, with the assistance of the Community Development Department. In order to conduct business in the new location, extensive interior modifications must be completed. The costs involved exceed $20,000.00, therefore undergrounding of overhead services is required by the City's Municipal Code. It is my ITEM TITLE: (4/5ths Vote: Yes___ No~) RECOMMENDATION: That City Council set May 27, 1980, at 7:00 p.m. as the date and time for a Public Hearing to consider subject deferral. BOARD/COMMISSION RECOMMENDATION: Not applicable. DISCUSSION: Recently, Triton. Properties, agents representing the owner of Harvey's Bakery, applied for a Building Permit to remodel its new lease space at 333 Third Avenue. This permit valuation is estimated by the contractor to be $22,000.00. According to Chapter 15.32 of the Municipal Code this constitutes the requirement to underground the existing overhead electrical service to the building. The applicants have requested a deferral of this requirement. In accordance with Section 15.32.070 of the Municipal Code, Council must hold a public hearing prior to considering this deferral of under- grounding requirements. A transparency is available for Council viewing.
