ITEM TITLE: Resolution /(JI 7~ - Accepting Bids and Awarding Contract for
Screenings (Stone Chips)

Bids were received and opened at 11:00 A.M. on June 6, 1980 in the office of the
Purchasing Agent for furnishing screenings (stone chips) to the City for the period
July 1, 1980 through December 31, 1980.
RECOMMENDATION: That Council
Accept the bids and award the contract to Nelson & Sloan.

DISCUSSION:
Six vendors were mailed bid documents. Two vendors responded as follows:

Chula Vista
Sim J. Harris Co. 10.37
San Diego
The screenings are to be used for the street chip sealing program. An estimated
3,800 tons will be ordered delivered to the City yard. The bid price this year is
10~ per ton higher than last year. Nelson & Sloan was the supplier for fiscal year 79/80.
FISCAL IMPACT:
Purchases to be made only on availability of funds as certified by the Finance Director.
