CHULA VISTA CITY COUNCIL MEETING OF: October 29, 1974
ITEM TITLE: Resolution - Approving agreement with California State Department of
Finance for conducting 1975 mid-decade census and appropriating
funds therefor

BACKGROUND
Attached is a copy of the formal agreement that must be executed between the City of
Chula Vista and the State Department of Finance for the 1975 mid-decade special
census.
The terms of the agreement require the City to:
1. Furnish the State all data needed to conduct the census.
2. Reimburse within 30 days after completion of the census all costs
incurred by the Department of Finance.
3. Allow the State Department of Finance to choose the methodology utilized
in the enumeration of the population.
This is a standard agreement required of all agencies participating in the census.

It is necessary for the Council to adopt a resolution authorizing execution of the
agreement with the State Department of Finance by an official or officials of the
City.

Financial Statement: Authorize funds in the amount of $20,000 t~ be appropriated
from the unappropriated surplus of the Planning Fund and $10,000 from the unappropriated
surplus of the General Fund for the project described above. The appropriation will
be carried in Fund 14, Department Activity 1620 and Object Account 5298.
