MINUTES OF A REGULAR MEETING
BOARD OF APPEALS AND ADVISORS
CITY OF CHULA VISTA, CALIFORNIA

CALL MEETING TO ORDER:
Chairman McArthur called the meeting to order at 5:05 p.m.

2. NEW BUSINESS:
A. 166 Carver Street - Substandard Abatement
This item was brought to the Board as an informational
item and no action was required of the Board. Senior
Code Enforcement Officer Foster gave a brief summary of
the events that lead to the posting of the Notice and
Order to Demolish the above referenced property.
3. DIRECTOR'S COMMENTS/REPORT:
A.
Director Larsen presented the 1989 Code Enforcement
Activity Report and informed the Board that 829
vehicles have been removed from private property since
the implementation of this program.
A new reporting form will be available for distribution
to the Board at the -March meeting indicating the front
counter traffic activity of the department.

B. Video Previews
Two video tapes were presented to the Board - (1) Alley
Restoration (City of Anaheim, CA) and (2) Neighborhood
Conservation (City of Austin, TX)
Note - Director Larsen informed the Board that the
Department of Building and Housing will also be
developing a 5-7 minute video of our City's activities
to be presented at community service clubs.
C. Staff will present a code update session on the 1988
Uniform Building Code changes on March 12, 1990.
D. Director Larsen recommended that the Board subscribe to
the Buildinq Standards Maqazine, which contains
information which will be invaluable for the Board.
4. COMMUNICATIONS (PUBLIC REMARKS/WRITTEN CORRESPONDENCE): None
5. Chairman McArthur adjourned the meeting at 5:58 p.m. to the
next regular meeting scheduled for March 12, 1990.
