Flint STAFF: M. Girbes, Housing Coordinator The meeting was called to order at 3:40 P.M. The committee reviewed the five sites which they visited on May 23, 1990, as potential sites for a relocation mobilehome park. Based on criteria used to rate a site for this purpose, J. Casillas said he favored the site known as the Harbor Drive-In. C. Williams said she agreed. She said she had spoken with the Mayor and mentioned this site as an immediate solution for those being displaced in the near future. She also believes the committee should encourage that the Eastlake site be considered for the future. J. Casillas moved that the Housing Advisory Committee recommend to City Council that the City proceed to acquire the drive-in site to develop into a relocation mobilehome park. In addition, staff be directed to analyze the possibility of a joint venture or development proposal by a for profit or non-profit organization. Passed unanimously. M. F. Click indicated her support of the original proposal which was with St. Vincent de Paul and the City in which Father Joe Carroll would operate the park and some spaces would be used for transitional housing for homeless families. The committee expects the recommendation to go to Council on Tuesday, June 19. The committee requested the June meeting be held on June 13 in order to review the staff report to Council. The regularly scheduled meeting on June 27 will be cancelled. The meeting was adjourned at 4:25 P.M.
