ITEM TITLE: Resolution Ii?~..s-I Approving reimbursement of certain
traffic signal participation fees and appropriating funds
therefor (
SUBMITTED BY (4j5ths Vote: Yes x No___)
:City Engineer '
On February 17, 1981, City Council approved modifications to the
Traffic Signal participation Policy. Under the provisions of
that revised policy it is now appropriate that reimbursement be
made to certain developers.
Engineering staff has reviewed each of the fee determinations
made under the original policy. Those fees inconsistent with the
new policy were further discussed with the property owners to
verify the extent of traffic generation involved prior to the
most recent on-site development activity. I have reviewed and
support Engineering staff findings that reimbursements in the
amount of $8.678.61 are due to those persons and/or organizations
whose names are shown on the attached list of reimbursements. It
is therefore my
RECOMMENDATION: That City Council:
1. Appropriate $8,678.61 from the unappropriated balance of the
Traffic Signal Fund'to account 211-2110-5420 for the purpose
of making reimbursements, and
2. Direct the Director of Finance to make the appropriate
refunds.
BOARDS/COMMISSIONS RECOMMENDATION: Not applicable.
DISC USSION:
Engineering staff investigation has disclosed that partial and/or
total refunds should be made relative to eleven developments.
