the State of California
SUBMITTED BY, OHy 'eglem ~ (41Sth, Yot" "'- "'~)
In conjunction with the improvement of I-54 Freeway, the State of
California acquired certain parcels of land for the construction of a
bridge on North Second Avenue across the Sweetwater River. Since the
City has completed the construction of North Second Avenue on a new
alignment (different from that of the State's), these parcels are no
longer needed by the State. The State has agreed to deed the excess
parcels to the City. It is my
RECOMMENDATION: That City Council accept the three parcels of land
deeded to the City and direct staff to record same.
BOARD/COMMISSION RECOMMENDATION: Not applicable.
DISCUSSION:
Attached is a sketch showing the location of the three parcels being
granted to the City as it relates to the new alignment of NorOth Second
Avenue and the entrance to KOA Kampground. Also shown on the sketch is
the property which has been relinquished to the City by the State.
{That area basically represents the entrance to the KOA Kampground.}
Following recordation of this deed, the City will, as part of it~
previous agreement to Vista Hill, be quitclaiming a portion of parcel
no. 16876 to them. The remaining portion will be combined with
existing City owned property into one developable parcel. This parcel
is outlined on the attached sketch. Staff is currently having an
appraisal made on the value of this property.
