Meeting Date 1-13-81 ITEM TITLE: Resolution/bJJ7'- Accepting bids and awarding contract for rebuilding of / Mobil street sweeper ' SUBMITTED BY: Purchasing Agent ~/~ (4/5ths Vote: Yes___ No~) The Council approved funds in the Street Division budget for this fiscal year to rebuild the existing City street sweeper or to purchase a used one from the City of San Diego, Subsequently, at the meeting of August 19, 1980, Council received a report from the Development Services Administrator which recommended, after investigation, that we rebuild the City's 1964 Mobil Street Sweeper and not purchase a used sweeper from San Diego. Council accepted the report and authorized the rehabilitation of our sweeper. Therefore, it is the Development Services Administrator's and my RECOMMENDATION: That Council accept bids and award the contract to Donaher & Son, Inc. BOARDS/COMMISSIO~RECOMMENDATION: N/A DISCUSSION: Two vendors submitted bids as follows: BIDDER AMOUNT $34,845.00 Donaher & Son, Inc. Anaheim, CA Nixon-Egli Equipment Co. Santa Fe Springs, CA $41, 504.18 The bid of Donaher&Son;,IncLl has been reviewed by the Equipment Maintenance Superintendent and Development Services Administrator and is acceptable to both.
