HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrd 1981-1944 ORDINANCE NO. 1944 kN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF CHULA VISTA AMENDING SECTION 2.09.010 OF CHAPTER 2.09 OF THE CHULA VISTA MUNICIPAL CODE RELATING TO THE POSITION OF THE DIRECTOR OF PUBLIC SAFETY The City Council of the City of Chula Vista does ordain as follows: SECTION I: That Section 2.09.010 of Chapter 2.09 of the the Chula Vista Municipal Code be, and the same is hereby amended to read as follows: Sec. 2.09. 010 Created. There is created the position of the director of public safety, who shall assume those powers and duties as set forth in this chapter on February 1, 1980. Said position shall remain in being to and until July 1, 1982, unless the city council shall by ordinance extend the term of said position, including the consolidation of those powers and duties of the police chief and fire chief as stated in this title; provided, however, the city council may at any time earlier than July 1, 1982, by ordinance, eliminate said position of director of public safety. SECTION II: This ordinance shall take effect and be in full force and effect on the thirty-first day from and after its adoption. Presented and Approved as to form by George D. DATED City Clerk ORDINANCE NO. 1944 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF CHULA VISTA AMENDING SECTION 2.09.010 OF CHAPTER 2.09 OF THE CHULA VISTA MUNICIPAL CODE RELATING TO THE POSITION OF THE DIRECTOR OF PUBLIC SAFETY By a unanimous vote of those present (Mayor Hyde was absent), the City Council placed the ordinance on second reading and adoption at the meeting of June 16, 1981. The ordinance extends the position of the Director of Public Safety for an additional period of one year - to July 1, 1982.
