AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF CHULA VISTA AMENDING
SECTIONS 2.02. 010 THROUGH 2.02. 030 OF CHAPTER 2.02
OF THE CHULA VISTA MUNICIPAL CODE RELATING TO CONFLICT
OF INTEREST
The City Council of the City of Chula Vista does ordain
as follows:
SECTION I: That Sections 2.02.010 through 2.02.030 of
the Chula Vista Municipal Code be, and the same is hereby amended
to read as follows:
CHAPTER 2.02 CONFLICT OF INTEREST.
Sec. 2.02.010 Conflict of Interest Code.
Pursuant to Government Code Sections 87300 et seq.,
the City Council adopts the guidelines codified in
Sections 2.02.010 through 2.02.040 for its public offi-
cials. Said Government Code provisions require that
designated public officials file annual statements
disclosing reportable investments, interest in real
property and income. Nothing contained herein is
intended to modify or abridge the provisions of the
Governmental Conflict of Interest Act, Government Code
Section 1090 et seq., or any other provisions of the law
pertaining to conflict of interest. This chapter shall
be interpreted in a manner consistent therewith.
Sec. 2.02.020 Designated officials.
The persons holding positions listed in this section
are required to file an economic disclosure statement
pursuant to state law. It has been determined that these
persons make or participate in the making of decisions
which may foreseeably have a material effect on finani-
cial interests. The designated persons are:
A. Board of Appeals;
B. Design Review Committee;
C. Planning Commission;
D. City Manager;
E. City Attorney;
F. City Clerk;
G. All Department Heads;
H. Environmental Review Coordinator;

I. Chief Building Inspector;
J. Zoning Enforcement Officer;
K. Plan Checker;
L. Principal Community Development Specialist;
M. Housing Coordinator;
N. Redevelopment Coordinator;
O. Senior Civil Engineer;
P. Revenue and Recovery Officer;
Q. Purchasing Agent;
R. Fire Marshal;
S. Battalion Chief;
T. Police Captain;
U. Parks Superintendent;
V. Recreation Superintendent;
W. Senior Planner;
The statement to be filed by these des~nated persons
shall be in compliance with applicable Government Code
provisions and the regulations promulgated by the Fair
Political Practices Commission. The City Council may
also designate, by resolution, positions which shall be
required to prepare disclosure statements.
Sec. 2.02.030 Applicability to Other Persons.
A deputy or assistant of any of the persons designated
in Section 2.02.020 who is empowered to act in the place
of the person shall be subject to the provisions of
Government Code Section 87300 et seq.
In addition to those persons specified above, the City
Clerk in consultation with the City Attorney may require
the filing of an economic disclosure statement by other
employees, consultants or members of commissions pursuant
to the provisions of Government Code Section 87300 et
seq. and the regulations promulgated thereto.
SECTION II: This ordinance shall take effect and be in
full force on the thirty-first day from and after its adoption.
