HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrd 1984-2060 ORDINANCE NO. 2060 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF CHULA VISTA AMENDING CHAPTER 2.04 OF THE CHULA VISTA MUNICIPAL CODE BY AMENDING SECTIONS 2.04.580 AND 2.04.590 RELATING TO COMPENSATION FOR MEMBERS OF THE CITY COUNCIL AND THE MAYOR The City Council of the City of Chula Vista does ordain as follows: SECTION I: That Sections 2.04.580 and 2.04.590 of Chapter 2.04 of the Chula Vista Municipal Code be, and the same are hereby amended to read as follows: Sec- 2.04,580 Councilmembers - Compensation. The members of the City Council shall receive the sum of five hundred forty-five dollars and seventy-two cents ($545.72) per month as compensation for their services, as provided in Section 36516.2 of the Government Code of the State of California, which salary shall be payable from and after the first pay period in January of 1984 in the same manner as the salaries paid to other offi- cers and employees of the City to and until Section 36516 et seq. of the Government Code of the State of California may be amended, and the City Council amends this ordinance in accordance with such amendments or in accordance with Section 36516.2 of the Government Code providing for annual cost of living increases. Sec. 2.04.590 Mayor - Compensation. The Mayor of the City of Chula Vista shall receive the sum of two thousand one hundred dollars ($2,100.00) per month as compensation for the Mayor's services as proyided in Section 304 of the Charter of the City of Chula Vista which shall be payable from and after the first pay period in January of 1984 in accordance with Section 36516.2 of the Government Code of the State of California as it presently reads or as it may be amended providing for annual cost of living increases. SECTION II: This ordinance shall take effect and be in full force upon the thirty-first day from and after its adoption. -1- SECTION III: That the City Council does hereby appro- priate $2716 from the unappropriated balance of t/le General Fund to Council Salary and Benefits Account 100-0105. DATED (seol) City Clerk CC-660 ORDINANCE NO. 2060 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF CHULA VISTA AMENDING CHAPTER 2.04 OF THE CHULA VISTA MUNICIPAL CODE BY AMENDING SECTIONS 2.04,580 AND 2.04.590 RELATING TO COMPENSATION FOR MEMBERS OF THE CITY COUNCIL AND THE MAYOR By a unanimous vote on January 3, 1984, the City Council placed the ordinance on its second reading and adoption. In accordance with the provisions of the Charter, an annual pay increase of 5% is provided for the Mayor and City Council. As of January 1, 1984, the Councilmembers will receive a monthly compensa- tion of $545.72 and the Mayor will receive $2,100.00.
