FOR ONE 10-C YARD DUMP TRUCK DIltECTOR OF PUBLI WORKS CITY MANAG ~-- ASSISTANT CIT MANAGER 4/STHS VOTE: YES ^ NO SUMMARY The FY 2009-10 Sewer Fund budget provides for the replacement of one 1995 Intemational 10-cubic yard dump truck. Bids were solicited by Purchasing to provide a tnick in compliance with specifications developed for that purpose. The bid was advertised electronically on Planet Bids and was advertised in the Star News. Four vendors submitted bids; however, one bid was non-responsive. Staff recommends that the contract be awarded to EW Truck and Equipment Company, Inc., as the lowest responsive bidder. ENVIRONMENTAL REVIEW Not applicable. RECOMMENDATION Council adopt the resolution. BOARDS/COMMISSION RECOMMENDATION Not applicable. DISCUSSION The FY 2009-10 Sewer Fund budget provides for the replacement of a 1995 International 10-cubic yard dump truck. Specifications were prepared by the Fleet Manager, working with responsible Wastewater Maintenance staff, in order to request bids for the replacement truck. The following table provides a summary of the bids received by vendor. Original bid submittals are available in the Purchasing Agent's office. DECISION MAKER CONFLICT Staff has reviewed the decision contemplated by this action and has determined that it is not site specific and consequently the 500 foot rule found in California Code of Regulations section 18704.2(a)(1) is not applicable to this decision. CURRENT YEAR FISCAL IMPACT The net total cost including taxes is $133,249. Sufficient funds have been budgeted in the Sewer Fund for this purchase. ONGOING FISCAL IMPACT Since this is a replacement vehicle, there is no increase in ongoing maintenance and operating costs for the Sewer Fund. ATTACHMENTS None. Prepnred by.'
