HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrd 1992-2505 ORDINANCE NO. 2505 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF CHULA VISTA AMENDING SECTION 2.14.080(A) OF THE CHULA VISTA MUNICIPAL CODE TO EXTEND THE DURATION OF THE AUTHORITY OF THE CITY MANAGER TO PROCLAIM A STATE OF LOCAL EMERGENCY UNTIL THE NEXT REGULARLY SCHEDULED COUNCIL MEEETING The City Council of the City of Chula Vista does ordain as follows: SECTION I: That Section 2.14.080A of the Chula Vista Municipal Code is hereby amended to read as follows: Sec. 2.14.080 Director-Powers and duties. The director of emergency services is empowered to: A. Request the city council to proclaim the existence or threatened existence of a "local emergency" if the city council is in session, or to issue such proclamation if the city council is not in session. Whenever a local emergency is proclaimed by the director, the city council shall take action to ratify the proclamation at their next regularly scheduled Council meeting held after the date of the proclamation or the proclamation shall have no further force or effect unless terminated sooner by the City Council at a special meeting called by the Council for that purpose; . . .:" SECTION II: This ordinance shall take effect and be in full force on the thirtieth day from and after its adoption.
