RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
CHULA VISTA ACCEPTING THE 2009 GROWTH
MANAGEMENT OVERSIGHT COMMISSION ANNUAL
REPORT, AND DIRECTING THE CITY MANAGER TO
UNDERTAKE ACTIONS NECESSARY TO IMPLEMENT
REPORT RECOMMENDATIONS AS PRESENTED IN THE
STAFF RESPONSES AND PROPOSED IMPLEMENTING
ACTIONS SUMMARY
WHEREAS, the City's Growth Management Oversight Commission (GMOC) is
responsible for monitoring the threshold standazds for the City's eleven growth management
quality of life indicators, and reporting their findings and recommendations to the City Council;
and
WHEREAS, it has been determined that there is no possibility that the activity may have
a significant effect on the environment; therefore, pursuant to Section 15061(b)(3) of the State
California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) Guidelines, the activity is not subject to CEQA;
and
WHEREAS, on February 5, 2009, the GMOC finalized its 2009 Annual Report; and
WHEREAS, the report covers the period from July 1, 2007 through June 30, 2008,
identifies current issues in the second half of 2008 and eazly 2009, and assesses threshold
compliance concerns over the next five yeazs; and
WHEREAS, on Mazch 5, 2009, the City Council held a duly noticed joint public hearing
with the Planning Commission to consider the 2009 GMOC Annual Report; and
WHEREAS, the Planning Commission, upon considering the Report, recommended that
the City Council accept the Report.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Chula
Vista accepts the 2009 GMOC Annual Report.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Council directs the City Manager to
undertake actions necessazy to carry out the implementing actions as presented in the Staff
Responses and Proposed Implementing Actions Summary (Exhibit A).
