SUMMARY
The Meyers-Milias~Brown Act (MMBA) as contained in California Government Code
section 3500-3511 provides for the orderly administration of employer-employee relations.
It states that a public agency may adopt reasonable rules and regulations for recognizing
employee organizations and for meeting and conferring witj:l those organizations regarding
wages, hours, and other terms and conditions of employment.
ENVIRONMENTAL REVIEW'
The Environmental Review Coordinator has reviewed the proposed activity for
compliance. with the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) and has determined
that there is no possibility that the activity may have a significant effect on the
environment because it does not involve a physical change to the environment; therefore,'
pursuant to sectionl506(b )(3) of the State CEQA Guidelines the activity is not subject to
CEQA. Thus, no environmental review is necessary~ .
RECOMMENDATION
Council adopt the resolution

Not applicable.
DISCUSSION
Pursuant to the MMBA, the CitY of Chula Vista, as a public agency, by and through the
City Council, is authorized to designate a Management Team as its representative for the
"Meet and Confer" process. Adoption of the proposed resolution, deemed necessary and
appropriate to revise the list of designated members of the Management Team for the
Meet and Confer process due to recent changes in personnel, accomplishes this.

DECISION MAKER CONFLICT
Staff has .reviewed the decision contemplated by this action and has determined that it is
not site specific and consequently the 500 foot rule found in California Code of
regulations section 1 8704.2(a)(1) is not applicabl~ to this decision.

RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF CHtJLA VISTA APPOINTING THE CITY'S

WHEREAS, the "Meyers-Milias-Brown Act" (MMBA) as contained in California

WHEREAS, the MMBA provides that a public agency may adopt reasonable
rules and regulations for recognizing employee organizations and for meeting and
conferring with those organizations regarding wages, hours, and terms and conditions of
employment; and .
\\tlIEREAS, pursuant to the MMBA, the City of Chula Vista, as a public agency,
by and through its City Council, is authorized to designate a Management Team as its
representative for the "Meet and Confer" process; and
WHEREAS, as a result of recent changes. in personnel, it is .now deemed
necessary and appropriate to revise the list of designated members of the Management
Team for the Meet and Confer process.. .
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of
Chula Vista, that pursuant to the MMBA and the City's Employer-Employee Relations
Policy, the following persons are designated as members of the Management Team for
.. purposes of meeting and conferring with the City's recognized employee organizations:
