RESOLUTION NO. 10679
RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CHULA
VISTA ELECTING TO PROCEED UNDER THE PROVISIONS OF THE
STREET VACATION ACT OF 1941, DECLARING THE INTENTION
OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CHULA VISTA TO
VACATE PORTIONS OF MADRONA STREET, LANDIS AVENUE,
GARRETT AVENUE AND CENTER STREET, AND AN ALLEY IN
BLOCK I OF MAP NO. 820 AND SETTING DATE AND TIME
FOR PUBLIC HEARING THEREON
The City Council of the City of Chula Vista does hereby
resolve as follows:
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Chula Vista has
determined that the public interest and convenience of said City
require the vacation of portions of Madrona Street, Landis Avenue,
Garrett Avenue and Center Street, and an alley in Block I of Map
No. 820.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that it is the intention
of the City Council of the City of Chula Vista to order the
vacation of said portions of Madrona Street, Landis Avenue,
Garrett Avenue and Center Street, and an alley in Block I of Map
No. 820, more particularly described in Exhibit "A", attached
hereto and by this reference made a part hereof, the same as
though fully set forth herein.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Council of the City
of Chula Vista hereby elects to proceed in making said vacation
under the provisions of the Street Vacation Act of 1941, and
hereby fixes 7:00 p.m., the 17th day of November, 1981, in the
Council Chambers, 276 Fourth Avenue, Chula Vista, California as
the time and place for hearing all persons interested in or
objecting to the proposed vacation.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Clerk of the City of
Chula Vista be, and she is here~ directed to cause a copy of this
resolution to be published once in the Chula Vista Star News, a
newspaper of general circulation published within the City of
Chula Vista, and to cause notices of the passage of this
resolution to be posted in the manner and form required by law.

All those portions of Garrett Avenue, Landis Avenue, Center
Street and Madrona Street as shown on the San Diego Land and Town
Company's Subdivision according to map thereof No. 820, in the
City of Chula Vista, County of San Diego, State of California,
filed in the Office of the County Recorder of said county on July
16, 1896.
Also:
That public alley in Block No.1 as shown on said Map No. 820.
Excepting therefrom:
That portion of Center Street vacated by the Chula Vista City
Council by Resolution No. 9523, recorded in the San Diego County
Recarder~s office on August 23, 1979, File/Page No. 79-353709,
more particularly described as follows:
Beginning at the northwest corner of Block No.5 of said Map No.
820; thence easterly along the northerly line of Block No.5,
also being the southerly right-of-way line of Center Street,
North 71023'27" East, 173.78 feet to the northeast corner of
Block No.5, also being the intersection with the westerly right-
of-way line of Landis Avenue; thence northerly along said right-
of-way line North 18029'36" West, 30.00 feet to the centerline of
Center Street; thence westerly along said centerline South
71023'27" West, 173.78 feet to the intersection with the
prolongation of the westerly line of said Block No.5; thence
southerly along said line 30 feet more or less to the point of
beginning.
Also excepting therefrom:
Those portions of Madrona Street and Landis Avenue vacated by
said Council Resolution No. 9523, more particularly described as
follows:
Beginning at the southwest corner of said Block No.5, Map No.
820; thence South 18030'03" East, 60.00 feet to the southerly
right-of-way line of Madrona Street; thence easterly along said
right-of-way line, North 71022'28" East, 283.38 feet; thence
North 18"29'28" West, 60.00 feet to a point on the northerly
right-of-way line of Madrona Street; thence westerly along said
northerly right-of-way line South 71022'28" West, 49.64 feet to
the intersection with the easterly right-of-way line of Landis
Avenue; thence northerly along said right-of-way line. North
18029'36" West, 95.23 feet; thence South 71022'58" West, 60.00
feet to a point on the westerly right-of-way line of Landis
Avenue; thence southerly along said westerly right-of-way line
95.23 feet, more or less, to the intersection with the northerly
