RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CHULA
VISTA AMENDING CIVIL SERVICE RULE 2.02.B.2.(e) -
ANNUAL VACATIONS
The City Council of the City of Chula Vista does hereby
resolve as follows:
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of
the City of Chula Vista that that certain revision to Rule 2.02.B.2.(e)
of the Civil Service Rules, attached hereto as Exhibit "A" and in-
corporated herein by reference as if set forth in full, be, and
the same is hereby adopted.

Rule 2.02.B.2.(e)
At no time may an employee have more than two years of vacation leave
accumulated. (Maximum hours are specified in subsections (a) through
(d) above.) No credits shall be accrued above tRtS the limit and any
time in excess of the two-year limitation will be lest forfeited,
provided, however, employees on sick leave because of a job related
injury or an illness requiring an absence of four working days or
more may exceed their maximum vacation accrual with Commission approval.

Requests for approval to exceed maximum vacation accrual must be submitted
in writing accompanied by a dOctor's statement which supports the use of
sick leave, through the department head to the Commission. Each case shall
be considered individually by the Commission. If the request is approved,
such employees will be required to take the necessary time off to reduce
their excess balance to the appropriate two-year limit within six months
after returning to work or forfeit the excess accumulation.
