RESOLUTION
OF
THE BOARD OF DXRECTORS OF
SAN DXEGO COUNTRY CLUB
Effective February 27, 1991
This Resolution of the Board of Directors of San Diego
Country Club, a California nonprofit corporation ("Club"), is
executed by the undersigned, who are all of the Directors of the
Corporation, in accordance with section 307(b) of the California
Corporations Code and the Bylaws of the Club authorizing the
Directors to so act.
Desiring to recognize the services performed and
contributions made to the City of Chula vista (the "City") by the
late Mayor Gayle McCandliss, the undersigned Directors hereby
unanimously take the following action:
WHEREAS, Mayor McCandliss grew up in the
City, was graduated from San Diego State
University, and devoted her life to improving
the quality of life for residents of the City
by helping to make the City a better place to
live; and
WHEREAS, Mayor McCandliss began her
distinguished public service career by
serving in the City's Youth Commission as a
teenager; and
WHEREAS, Mayor McCandliss continued her
career by serving as a City Council member
for many distinguished years; and
WHEREAS, the residents of the City
recognized the outstanding public
contributions of Mayor McCandliss by electing
her Mayor of the city in November of 1990;
and
WHEREAS, Mayor McCandliss was very
supportive when the Club sought approval to
build its clubhouse; and

WHEREAS, Mayor McCandliss was a close
and personal friend of many of the Club's
members;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the
Club hereby recognizes and applauds the
Mayor's many outstanding contributions made
to the city during her long, distinguished
and illustrious career of dedicated public
service; and
RESOLVED FURTHER, that the Club hereby
expresses its sympathy and regrets to Mayor
McCandliss' family and to her many loving
friends.
IN WITNESS WHEREOF, the undersigned Directors have executed
this Resolution to be effective as of the date first above
written.

Mayor pro Tempore Leonard Moore will present the proclamation declaring
the week of April 15 through April 19, 1991 as "FAIR HOUSING WEEK" to
Mr. Eric Money Penny, Fair Housing Coordinator for the City of Chula
Vista, California.
Mr. Money-Penny will present Certificates of Appreciation to those
students who participated in the Annual Poster Contest for "FAIR
HOUSING WEEK".

(1) Awarding of certificates Sister City Youth Exchange Students upon
their return from Irapuato, Mexico: Norma Gilbert and Ana Urrutia from
Chula Vista High School and Jose Janpalach Gonzalez from Bonita Vista
High School.
(2) Report of the Chula Vista Special Exhibit and Twentieth Anniversary
Recognition at the Strawberry Festival in lrapuato, Gto, Mexico: Presented
by Nancy Jimenez Taboada, President, Chula Vista-Irapuato Sister Cities
Subcommittee and IFC Commissioner.

MINUTES OF A REGULAR MEETING
INTERNATIONAL FRIENDSHIP COMMISSION
CITY OF CHULA VISTA, CALIFORNIA
March 25, 1991 4:00 P.M.
MEMBERS PRESENT: Chairman Thomas, Vice-Chairman Baker, Members
Decker, Hammock, and Rittenhouse.
MEMBERS ABSENT: Brining, Harmata, Martin and Taboada, all excused.
APPROVAL OF MINUTES: Corrections to the minutes are, Unfinished
Business, sec. C, 1st paragraph, insert, a
special thanks to Lisa Campbell for training
the boys for the race which they came in 25th
out of 66 teams and a special thanks to Frank
Fujikawa fo~ chaperoning the boys.

minutes of February 25, 1991 as corrected.
NEW BUSINESS:
A. Slide presentation by Frank Fjuikawa. Mr. Fujikawa showed the
slides he took of the boys on the relay team while in Odawara,
Japan. They are a wonderful memory and a special thanks to Mr.
Fujikawa for his participation.
Mr. Fujikawa thanked the City of Chula Vista for allowing him to
participate and to go to Japan.
Chairman Thomas ask Mr. Fujikawa to give a presentation to
Halecrest School and to Hilltop Jr. High School.
B. Odawara Student Exchange - Both Dianne Harmata and Susan Martin
were absent and they have the information so will table this item
until next month.
C. Odawara Anniversary Celebration Update - Johnny Dunkle gave an
update on the arrangement being made for the trip to Odawara and he
passed out a tentative schedule for the trip 4/27 to 5/5.
The committee for Odawara will have a meeting on April 8, 1991 at
0800 hours to plan the Odawara Anniversary gifts and details and
the plaque.
D. Irapauto Student Exchange - The students and Nancy Taboada are in
Mexico now but no one has heard from them.

E. Archives - John Rittenhouse has the shirts and shorts (7 pair) for
the relay team. The Chairperson ask him to hang on to them.
Mary Brining has 14 T-shirts, check book and petty cash box.
Betty Hammock has tried to get in touch with Kelly Brennan to get
the pictures of her trip to Odawara several years ago which the IFC
paid for but Kelly does not return her calls.
NEW BUSINESS
A. Southern California Sister Cities International Conference to be
held on April 27, 1991. When information comes in, the secretary
will mail it out to the members.
MSUC (Baker/Decker) To send a delegation to the Southern California
International Conference on April 27, 1991.
REPORTS
James Baker will check with the Coast Guard's Captain for more
information on the America's Cup.
Treasurers Report:
$18.32 in the bank.
Secretary went over the Budget with the Commission.
Meeting adjourned at 5:45 P.M.

as "NATIONAL VOLUNTEER WEEK" will be presented by Mayor pro Tempore
Leonard M. Moore to Ms. Toni McKean, QWL Coordinator for the City of
Chula Vista.
