the City of Chula vista for indemnity in connection with litigation brought
against them by Vernon and Jean Pendergraft in connection with the death of
their child, Pamela, on January 26, 1990.
Claims against the city were previously filed by the Pendergrafts
and were denied by the City Council on July 24, 1990. It is the recommen-
dation of counsel for the City, Daley & Heft, concurred in by the city
Attorney's office, Risk Management and our claims administrators, Carl War-
ren & Company that this claim be denied.
Claimant No.2:

c/o Joseph V. O'Leary, Esq.
Attorney at Law
Chula Vista, CA 91910
On April 12, 1991, Mr. Saul Torres filed a claim for an amount
within the jurisdiction of the Superior Court. The claim alleged a dan-
gerous condition of roadway on the bridge between National City and Chula
Vista, which caused personal injuries to Mr. Torres in connection with a
bicycle accident on December 10, 1990.
Due to remote liability on the part of the City, and the fact that
the location of the accident is outside the city Limits of Chula Vista, it
is the recommendation of the City's claims administrators, Carl Warren &
Company, concurred in by Risk Management, that the claim be denied.
