Aya,
It saddens me to have to inform you that effective immediately, I must resign as a member of the
International Friendship Commission. It has been a pleasure serving on the IFC with you and the
other commission members, and I hope to have the opportunity to volunteer my time once again
in the future.
Best regards,
Jason Harmon

Dear Ms. Bigelow:
The following is the body of a letter I sent to Mayor Cheryl Cox:
It is with great regret that I inform you of my resignation from our city's Growth Management
Oversight Commission.
I have just accepted ajob as the South Bay Correspondent for KGTV, 10 News in San Diego. My
future employers and I agree, my serving on the GMOC and covering the City for a local station
creates a conflict of interest.
My time on the GMOC was an experience I will never forget. For the first time in my life, I feel
like I had an impact on my community beyond the average citizen.
However, as a very proud resident of Chula Vista, I hope you fmd my departure a welcome one
for a couple of reasons: It gives another citizen a chance to participate in local government, and
there will now be a journalist who can still serve his adopted city by covering issues that are
important to Chula Vista and its residents.
For these reasons, I hope you accept my resignation without regret. And I hope to talk with you
many, many times in the near future on, and off air.
