HomeMy WebLinkAboutReso 2007-020 RESOLUTION NO. 2007-020 RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CHULA VISTA ADDING ONE LATENT PRINT EXAMINER TO THE AUTHORIZED STAFFING LEVEL OF THE POLICE DEPARTMENT, AMENDING THE FISCAL YEAR 2006/2007 POLICE DEPARTMENT BUDGET AND APPROPRIATING FUNDS BASED UPON UNANTICIPATED REVENUES WHEREAS, the State of California Department of Justice maintains an automated system for retaining and identifying fingerprints, palm prints and photos called the California Identification System and Cal-Photo (hereinafter referred to as "Cal-ID"); and WHEREAS, due to the multiple regional services provided by the San Diego Sheriffs Department, along with an increased caseload, a regional backlog exists for identification entry into the Cal-ID system and fingerprint verification; and WHEREAS, the Police Department proposes to add one Latent Print Examiner position to its authorized staffing level to address the regional Cal-ID backlog; and WHEREAS, this new position would provide latent print services on a regional basis and would be completely funded by the San Diego County's Cal-ID Remote Access Network program.
