HomeMy WebLinkAboutcc min 1985/04/11 MINUTES OF A SPECIAL MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CHULA VISTA, CALIFORNIA Thursday, April 11, 1985 Council Conference Room 4:20 p.m. City Hall ROLL CALL Present: Mayor Cox, Councilmembers Malcolm, Scott, Moore, Councilwoman McCandliss Absent: None Staff: Assistant City Manager Asmus, City Attorney Harron, Assistant City Attorney Gill RESOLUTION 11990 EXPRESSING COUNCIL'S OPPOSITION TO THE PORT DISTRICT PAYING THE CITY OF SAN DIEGO INSPECTION FEES FOR INSPECTION OF THE CONVENTION CENTER (City Attorney) The Port District is building a Convention Center adjacent to downtown San Diego which will be of great benefit to the economy of the City of San Diego. The City of San Diego proposes to charge the Port District for inspection of the Convention Center. City Attorney Harron stated the resolution should also state "plan checking fees." MSUC (Scott/Malcolm) to amend the resolution to include plan checking fees. RESOLUTION OFFERED, AS AMENDED, BY COUNCILMAN SCOTT, the reading of the text was waived by unanimous consent, passed and approved unanimously. Mayor Cox noted the resolution will be sent to the Port District and the other four cities in the District. CITY M3~NAGER'S REPORT (None) MAYOR'S REPORT Mayor Cox said it was his understanding that trees were to be trimmed along the pathway of the Greg Rogers' house move. This was not done and it slowed up the move considerably. MSUC (Cox/McCandliss) for the City Manager to submit a report to Council on the explanation and rationale for charging the Birches (house owners) the cost (,14,000) of placing the house at the temporary location and moving it onto their property (Second Avenue). CITY COUNCIL SPECIAL MEETING - 2 - April 11, 1985 COUNCIL COMMENTS Councilman Moore discussed his observance of a guest house on "L" Street (R-1 zone). MSUC (Moore/Cox) for the City Manager to review the ordinance and come back with specific recommendation for changes. CLOSED SESSION MSUC (Cox/Malcolm) to recess to Closed Session for matters of potential litigation. The Council recessed at 4:27 p.m. The City Clerk was excused.
