Council Chambers City Hall 276 Fourth Avenue CALL TO ORDER ROLL CALL: Councilmembers Castaneda, Chavez, McCann, Rindone, and Mayor Padilla PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE TO THE FLAG AND MOMENT OF SILENCE WORKSHOP 1. GENERAL PLAN IMPLEMENTATION The purpose of this workshop is to provide Council with a broad-based overview of the programs, tools, and processes necessary to implement the recently-adopted update of the City's General Plan. PUBLIC COMMENTS Persons speaking during Public Comments may address the Council on any subject matter within the Council's jurisdiction that is not listed as an item on the agenda. State law generally prohibits the Council from taking action on any issue not included on the agenda, but, if appropriate, the Council may schedule the topic for future discussion or refer the matter to staff. Comments are limited to three minutes. ADJOURNMENT to the Regular Meeting on August 8, 2006 at 6:00 p.m. in the Council Chambers. This action created a new vision for Chula Vista and established new goals and policies. Staff is now responsible for developing programs, tools and processes to implement the General Plan. The purpose of this workshop is to provide Council with a broad based overview of these programs, tools and processes so that there is a good understanding of the magnitude and scope of the work that needs to be done. Subsequent to this workshop, staff will return with a detailed work program, time schedule and budget estimate for the Zoning Code Update project. BOARDS AND COMMISSION RECOMMENDA nON: Not applicable. FISCAL IMP ACT: None at this time. Staff will return with draft work program and associated budget.
