HomeMy WebLinkAboutReso 1974-7225 RESOLUTION NO. 7225 RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL VISTA APPROVING EHERGENCY FUEL LANCE SERVICE OF THE CITY OF CHULA FOR BAY CITIES AJ1BU- The City Council of the City of Chula vista does hereby resolve as follows: WHEREAS, Bay Cities Ambulance Service, which provides emer- gency service to the citizens of Chula Vista, has indicated that because of the current gasoline shortage that there may be occasions when they would not be able to obtain gasoline supplies, which would be absolutely critical, and WHEREAS, the City has no means of providing gasoline to the ambulance service, and ~lHEREAS, although there is no appropriate legal device for establishing a process of regularly providing fuel, it is recognized that in a clear emergency situation, the City must reasonably react to provide fuel. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Chula vista that the following procedure be, and the same is hereby established to provide emergency fuel to Bay Cities Am- bulance Service: 1. After the ambulance service has exhausted every means possible to obtain fuel through other available fuel outlets, the ambulance service requests the fuel from the Police Department Watch Supervisor. After execution of a hold harmless agreement and a certificate that fuel cannot be obtained through other means, the Watch COIDraander permits the ambulance service to obtain gaso- line from the Police Department gasoline pump. 2. The ambulance service, using the imprinting device at the gasoline pump, completes a gasoline charge slip using the mis- cellaneous plastic card provided, then marking the slip with the name Bay Cities Ambulance Service. 3. The charge slip will be forwarded to the Equipment Maintenance Division with the other Police Department charge slips. 4. The Equipment Maintenance Division will forward a re- quest to the Director of Finance to invoice the Bay Cities Ambulance Service for the cost of the fuel at the City's cost plus a $4.00 administrative charge.
