RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CHULA
VISTA ESTABLISHING A LANDSCAPING POLICY FOR PUBLIC
BUILDINGS
The City Council of the City of Chula Vista does hereby
resolve as follows:
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Chula vista
desires to establish a landscaping policy for all public buildings
in the City comparable to that policy presently required for pri-
vate development.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of
the City of Chula Vista hereby adopts the following purpose and
policy relative to landscaping standards for public buildings:
PURPOSE
To adopt a landscaping policy for public buildings in
order that such buildings will be landscaped to the
same standards as required of private buildings.
POLICY
(a) The Director of Parks and Recreation and the City
Landscape Architect will review all existing City pro-
perties to determine the quantity and species of land-
scaping materials needed to bring those areas into
compliance with City standards and the City Landscape
Manual.
(b) A report will be prepared and submitted to the
City Manager outlining the estimated cost of each
project. The City Manager will then prepare a report
for the City Council recommending a time period in
which to carry out the program.
(c) The Director of Public Works, Director of Parks
and Recreation and the City Landscape Architect will
be responsible for the review of all proposed con-
struction of public buildings under the control of
the City to insure that the landscaping conforms to
City standards and the adopted Landscape Manual.
(d) Any future leasing or renewal of leases involving
City owned properties will include provisions requiring
the lessee to improve and install landscaping in accor-
dance with the Landscape Manual within certain specified
increments or time periods.
