BAY-DELTA OVERSIGHT COUNCIL

Chairman: Mike Madigan, of San Diego, is Senior Vice President of Pardee
Construction Company. Madigan is chairman of the San Diego County Water Authority
Board of Directors, and a member of the California Water Commission. He previously
served on the Board of Directors of the Metropolitan Water District of Southern California.
Stan Barnes, of Visalia, is a consulting civil engineer specializing in water-related
problems. Barnes is a member and past chairman of the California Water Commission. He
has also served on the State Reclamation Board.
Nat Bingham, of Mendocino, is the past president of the Pacific Coast Federation of
Fishermen's Associations. He has been a commercial fisherman since 1963. Bingham was
the founder and first director of the Winter-Run Chinook Salmon Captive Breeding Program,
and serves as a member of the Central Valley Water Project Transfer Advisory Committee.
Tom Clark, of Bakersfield, is the Executive Director of the Kern County Water r
Agency. Clark is a Director of the State Water Contractors. He is also the Vice President elf
the California Water Resources Association. .
Mike Gage, of Los Angeles, is Chairman of the Board of the Metropolitan Water
District. Gage also serves on the Board of the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power.
He previously served as Deputy Mayor of the City of Los Angeles and was a state
Assemblyman from Napa County.
Peter Green, of Huntington Beach, is a community college professor of biological
science and Mayor of Huntington Beach. Green is President of Amigos de Bolsa Chica, an
Orange County conservation group dedicated to protection of coastal wetlands.
Steve Hall, of Sacramento, is Executive Director of the Association of California
Water Agencies <ACW A). Hall previously served as the Executive Director of the California
Farm Water Coalition. He is also Vice President of the State Reclamation Board.
Eric Hasseltine, of Walnut Creek, is a partner in Hasseltine and Best, and President
of the Contra Costa Council, an organization of 500 businesses and industries in Contra Costa
County. Hasseltine served as a County Supervisor from 1977 to 1981 and served as the
Contra Costa representative on the Delta Advisory Planning Council.
Alex Hildebrand, of Manteca, is a registered professional engineer and owner of a
family farm. Hildebrand serves as a Director of the South Delta Water Agency.
Roger James, of San Jose, is Operations and Water Quality Manager for the Santa
Clara Valley Water District. James is a member of the Advisory Group for the National
Commission on Water Quality.
Tom Maddock, of Newport Beach, is Chairman of the Board of the Boyle
Engineering Company. Maddock is also Chairman of the Water Resources Committee for
the State Chamber of Commerce.
Jerry Meral, of Sacramento, is Executive Director of the Planning and Conservation
League. Meral previously served as Deputy Director of the California Department of Water
Resources and earned a doctorate in zoology from the University of California, Berkeley.
Dave Moore, of Newport Beach, is President of the Western Growers Association.
Moore is the owner of an agricultural operation in the southern San Joaquin Valley.
Andy Moran, of San Francisco, is General Manager of Hetch Hetchy Water and
Power. Moran serves on the Boards of the California Water Education Foundation and the
California Municipal Utilities Association.
Dan Nelson, of Los Banos, is Executive Director of the San Luis and Delta-Mendotar
Water Authority. He oversees the distribution of approximately 3 million acre feet of water I
distributed by the Authority. He also coordinates and implements the policy of 37 water .
agencies representing 2.1 million acres of federal and exchange water service contractors
within the western San Joaquin Valley, San Benito and Santa Clara Counties.
Ray Remy, of Los Angeles, is Executive Director of the Los Angeles Chamber of
Commerce. He previously served as Chief of Staff to Los Angeles Mayor Tom Bradley.
Audrey Tennis, of Chico, is partner in Tennis Brothers Farm, a diversified
agricultural partnership in Chico. Tennis has served as a member of the California Water
Commission since 1986.
Bob Vice, of Sacramento, is President of the California Farm Bureau. Vice is a
member of the California Association of Citrus Nurserymen and the California Avocado
Society .
Gary Widman, of Tiburon, is an attorney practicing environmental and resource law
at Bronson, Bronson and McKinnon. He is a past president of Trout Unlimited and is
currently on its State and National Boards. Widman has also served as an associate solicitor
for conservation and wildlife in the Department of the Interior in Washington D.C.
