CALL MEETING TO ORDER/ROLL CALL: Meeting was called to order at 5:32 p.m. by
Chairman Rowe. Members present constituted a quorum.
APPROVAL OF MINUTES: MSUC Mitchell/Hodson (6-0) to approve the minutes of
January 11, 1988.
1. P1EW BUSINESS:
A. Discussion was held on the major items of the Planning Commission
Agenda. There was no input required by this Commission for the
meeting of March 9, 1988. The RCC will. watch the status of the
proposed building near the wetlands.
B. Review of Draft F.IR-87-6 - Bonita Meadows: Will return to this
issue so that Commissioner Wendorf may be excused after finishing
with other agenda items to avoid a conflict of interest as a real
estate licensee during discussion of this issue.
Z. OLD BUSINESS: None.
3. COMMUNICATIONS: John Rojas, President of the Chula Vista Historical
Society, gave a brief introduction of the Society and bulletins were
handed out. He expressed the Society's interest in cooperating in
surveying the Montgomery area for historical sites. It was noted that
the 100th anniversary of the Sweetwater Reservoir is coming up next month
and a photographic exhibit will be held at the Bonita Museum for this
event. Coming up in Piay is the anniversary of Chula Vista. There will
be about 200 photographs displayed. Reid noted that there is money in
the RCC budget for photographic work if needed.
MSUC Mitchell/Donovan (6-0) that the RCC be identified as a sponsoring
group of the Chula Vista Historical Society with appropriate funding as
necessary.
4. STAFF REPORT: A copy of the budget update was circulated by D. Reid.
RCC has the opportunity to nominate an individual/organization for an
award to be given out at the Awards Banquet on April 8, 1988. Suggested
award titles were "Environmentalist of the Year" and "Resource Conserva-
tionalist of the Year." Any suggestions for nominations may be brought
up at the March 21st meeting or inform Doug Reid.

Commissioner Wendorf was excused for discussion of the Bonita Meadows review.
1. NEW BUSINESS:
B. Review of Draft EIR-87-6 - Bonita Meadows: A status report was
gi-ven by Reid. Many questions were raised as to the feasibility of
this project and the general plan. It was suggested that the RCC
take a field trip to look at the property.
A field trip by the RCC is tentatively scheduled for Saturday, March
19, 1988 leaving from the Public Services Building at 9:00 a.m. in
the city van. Doug Reid will contact the individual commissioners
on Friday evening, March 18th, as a reminder.
The Commission is encouraged to read the full report prior to the
field trip and be prepared to ask questions, caith focus on natural
constraints, etc. rather than impacts that are people-oriented.
ADJOURPdMF.NT: Meeting was adjourned at 6:52 p.m. to the Workshop/Field Trip on
Saturday, March 19, 1988. The next Regular Business Meeting is scheduled for
Monday, March 21, 1988 at 5:30 p.m. in Conference Rooms 2 and 3.
